Fool if you think it's over, naner-naner-nah!
To be quite honest I haven't really put much thought into this blog business and hope not to be offensive to all those who do take this rather seriously.
However, I am here to stay - use up my free space and all that, so perhaps we should begin...
I have braces. Yep! At the ripe old age of 24 and one quarter, somebody had a great idea about re-shaping the look of my teeth and I have had to suffer the consequences. Now I'll have you know that much of the hype about braces regarding pain and splitting lips isn't all that it's cracked up to be.
In fact, I have never had splitting lips and the only time I have ever experienced pain was perhaps during and about 2 days after the dental sadist technician tightened the wires. I think perhaps that she was on some special mission to prove her strength, or maybe she thought that a job well done is akin to a job forcefully done!
Let me explain: she was polite (the professional kind of polite) and not very talkative or atleast - not to me. But in administering her "skills" she broke off, broke off one of the blocks on my lower tooth. Yes, if I had the words to describe the kind of agony - it would be traumatic.
So here I am trying not to succumb to my fit of paranoia and I'm trying to ask her as best as I can whether or not there is a way that I could be of more assistance or was I being cooperative enough for her to do her job? To which she answered that she was doing just fine, but if I could just open my jaw a little wider then it might just go easier.
A LITTLE WIDER?! Yes, I would open my jaw a little wider if I knew how to unhinge it from the top jaw! It was fun, but it's over for now - I will have to undergo another traumatic experience like this one in about 6 weeks and am sure I will have far more thrilling things to say about it.
For now atleast I get to not eat - as I'm sure all you post brace-face, tin-grinners out there will know that eating is a precious commodity of which we can have no part. All in the name of a beautiful smile!![]()
